Hello, I’m Vyvyan.
I am the founder and esthetician behind The Holy Glow.
While Korean skincare has become increasingly recognized and admired, I noticed there were very few local estheticians within the PNW specializing in Korean skincare treatments and education.
Over time, I kept thinking, “If no one is creating this kind of space, maybe I should.”
The Holy Glow began in March 2024 as a home studio and was built through determination, creativity, and resourcefulness. In its earliest days, I offered donation-based tarot readings and facials to purchase my first massage bed and help jump start the business. A few months later, I began working at a scalp spa, where I was able to further support the business while deepening my experience in massage and client care.
Since launching, The Holy Glow has grown into a full-time studio practice through community support, word of mouth, and a deeply personalized approach to care, now serving approximately 40–50 clients each month.
I often describe the business as “a love letter to my younger self.”
My path into esthetics is deeply personal. After years of exploring different creative paths and careers, I found myself returning to a long-standing love of beauty and skincare.
Before enrolling in beauty school, encouragement from my husband and a conversation with my mother became a turning point for me. She acknowledged that beauty had always been part of who I was and encouraged me to pursue it fully. Her words carried a special weight, as she had originally hoped I would follow a career in healthcare, a difference in vision that had quietly strained our relationship for years. In many ways, choosing esthetics became an act of returning to myself, and of finding understanding between us.
I often describe the business as “a love letter to my younger self.”
During a difficult season in my early twenties, facials became one of the few spaces where I felt cared for, supported, and able to briefly step away from the weight of everyday life. That feeling continues to shape every treatment I offer today and that every one of my client feels deeply cared for.
wellness & empathy
Many clients come during stressful or vulnerable seasons of life—burnout, grief, parenting strain, confidence challenges, or major life transitions—and I’ve intentionally built a space where people can slow down, feel supported, and reconnect with themselves.
My philosophy is grounded in intentional care, skin integrity, and realistic transformation over trends or aggressive correction. Through The Holy Glow, I aim to create an experience that feels calming, personalized, and deeply supportive.
core values & philosophy
01
Intentional care
Every service is purposeful and never rushed.
Appointments are typically 1.5-2+ hours as every session begins with a consultation — giving you space to share skin updates and ask questions.
02
Personalized treatments
No two skins are ever the same, and no single facial is ever used across all clients. Each treatment is decided on the day of the appointment, based on what the skin is asking for in that moment.
03
Empowered education
Clients receive thoughtful, practical education throughout their treatments so they can better interpret their skin and support it long-term over trend-driven advice.
04
Healing first
Barrier health and realistic transformation are prioritized over aggressive treatments.
Corrective skin care should support your skin barrier — not leave it looking inflamed for days so you can go back to life.
05
Boundaried luxury
Clear pricing, no tipping expectations, and respect for expertise and time.
Fully relax without worrying about calculating tips or hidden add-ons. Pricing is transparent, treatments are intentional, and both the business and client are cared for fairly.
06
Beyond trends
The Holy Glow stays aware of industry trends, but knows how to filter what’s truly effective over hype.
New products and services are only introduced after thorough research, education, and real consideration for how they will benefit clients long term.
what clients experience
I’ve gotten facials before, but none of my experiences have been as personalized or as enjoyable as my visits with Vyvyan. I feel very fortunate to have gotten on her books before they were closed to new clients. My first visit several weeks ago started off strong with a thorough intake and time spent discussing skin concerns, history, and current products used.
She is also the first esthetician I’ve met to take notes!
After the first consultation, we decided on a green sea peel, which was my first peel ever and was impressive in improving dullness, removing old skin cells, and setting up the foundation for future visits. For my second visit, we decided on microneedling with serums targeting my concerns after an updated review of my skin and products. My skin was positively glowing after!
I highly recommend incorporating the massage, which includes scalp and neck - it is divine and skillfully done. Vyvyan is the first esthetician I’ve found to tailor the visit to my skin needs each time, and with the intention to improve skin quality long term.
Her approach is gentle with clear explanations. She expands her education and views new products and technologies with healthy skepticism, and I appreciate that she is current with Korean skin care methods to best care for her clients.
Her product recommendations for at-home care are invaluable, practical, and in my opinion, cost-effective. I love her approach as I like to nerd out on skin care (especially K-beauty) and she kindly engages with my skin musings - I also just adore her and her calm and down-to-earth personality. I recommend her wholeheartedly.
